The summer and winter terms at UMBC are also known as “special sessions.” Special sessions are governed by the Special Sessions Policy Committee (SSPC), a committee of faculty members appointed by the Faculty Senate to oversee special sessions programs. The SSPC has adapted various policies for special sessions at UMBC.
