DPS Faculty E-Contracts

The Division of Professional Studies (DPS) has developed a password protected online E-Contract system for our summer/winter and Professional Program faculty. This new e-contract system will allow you to electronically view and accept or reject your contract in accordance with the Maryland Uniform Electronic Transaction Act. Your acceptance or rejection of this contract will serve as your electronic signature. You must acknowledge this contract by the specified deadline below. Failure to do so may result in a delay of payment.

Access & Acknowledge E-Contract
To access your faculty e-contract, select the link below. Log in at the prompt using your UMBC username (your email without the @umbc.edu) and password. Carefully review all course details prior to accepting your contract. You will have the option to print a copy of your final contract for your records. If you have any problems accessing or printing your contract via this system please refer to the FAQ and Troubleshooting section below or email dpscontracts@umbc.edu.

Online Acceptance
I agree to accept my contract in electronic form, in accordance with the Maryland Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. I understand that I have the right to refuse to enter into future agreements in electronic form.

Opting Out
In accordance with the Maryland Uniform Electronic Transaction Act, you do have the option to “opt out” of this electronic contract. If you choose to opt out and not accept this contract in electronic form, you must submit an email stating so to dpscontracts@umbc.edu. You will then be contacted by DPS staff with a paper form of your contract. We encourage faculty to select the electronic contract option since paper copies may delay contract processing.

FAQ and Troubleshooting
Having trouble logging in or accessing your contract? Please refer to the FAQ’s below. If you are still having trouble, please send an email to dpscontracts@umbc.edu or call Edyta Edwards (410-455-6378) for summer/winter sessions or Nancy Clements (410-455-5536) for fall/spring semesters.

  1. I’m working from home and cannot log in to access my contract? Accessing your contract from an off-campus location should no longer require VPN connection. However, if you are having issues connecting from an off-campus location, please try to connect to UMBC’s VPN to see if that works.
  2. I received the error “504 Gateway Time-out.” What do I do? Please reload the page by clicking the refresh icon in your browser window.
  3. I’ve received another error message. What do I do? If you have received any other error message in accessing your contract, please send a screenshot of the error to dpscontracts@umbc.edu.
  4. I’m working on-campus and having issues accessing my contract. If you are connected to Wi-Fi, please ensure that it is either the Eduroam or UMBC Campus Wi-Fi. If you are connected to the UMBC Visitor Wi-Fi you will need to connect to the VPN (refer to question one).
  5. I clicked on the link above to accept my contract but nothing is happening. In some cases, the window prompting you to log in will “hide” behind the opened browser screen. If you cannot see the login window after you click on the  “View and Accept My Contract” link, please minimize the browser screen to help you locate the login window.
  6. Do you have a recommended browser? If you are using a PC, we recommend you use Internet Explorer (NOT Microsoft Edge), Chrome or Mozilla. If you are using a MAC, we recommend you use Chrome or Mozilla (Safari is not a supported browser).
  7. How do I access my contract if I’m teaching in multiple terms? Contracts are based on the term you are teaching. You must accept the contracts separately for each term. You may be asked to log in multiple times (once for each term being accessed).
  8. What is my UMBC username and where can I find it? Your UserName is the login name that you chose when you created your myUMBC account. It is typically found at the beginning of your UMBC email address. This is the account name you will use to login to various services on campus such as myUMBC. It is also your primary e-mail address. e.g. UserName@umbc.edu
